The McPherson Family and Invergowrie Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship for Women in STEM
Through the McPherson Family and Invergowrie Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship for Women in STEM, talented female engineering students from the University of Melbourne are being empowered to develop critical career skills and networks by undertaking an industry placement at a research and development hub – the Mallee Regional Innovation Centre (MRIC).
In 2021 this scholarships program was revised to cater for a wider range of post graduate students resulting in the following scholarships offered;
• PhD Scholarships for Women in STEM
• Projects and internships for female students enrolled in the Master of Engineering.
• An Early Career Researcher (Post-doc) project
• Career mentoring
Objectives of the program are:
• to support outstanding Australian women in engineering by providing scholarships and opportunities for recipients to lead multidisciplinary STEM research projects:
• to develop critical career skills and networks by undertaking industry placements in a new innovation centre;
• be mentored by leading researchers; and
• become a role model for other women wishing to pursue STEM education and careers.
