Moving from the small country town of Elmore to the ‘city’ of Geelong to study was always going to be a massive change in my life but the Invergowrie Foundation scholarship assisted in living fees for three years which allowed my move onto the Deakin University Waurn Ponds residences. Living at the university immediately made study much easier from day one and if I had not been able to move into the residences, I would never have had the extra assistance with my studies.

In my time living at the residences I made life-long friendships which have been invaluable and for two years I was a residential leader to 36 students. Without the scholarship I would never have been able to move into the residences and in turn would never have even dreamed of the wonderful opportunities I have had, met amazing people and been able to develop personally.
