    Highly respected for her professionalism and insights into the complex and ever-evolving landscape of twenty first century teaching and learning; Meg Hansen’s vision for Westbourne Grammar is underpinned by a strong moral purpose and an understanding that deep level thinking, creativity and imagination are amongst the fundamental skills young people will need for the world of tomorrow.

    A New Zealander by birth, Meg came to Westbourne in 1987 to teach English, becoming deputy principal in 1995 and from 2000 the principal of Lauriston Girls’ School. Returning to Westbourne in 2010, her leadership has been distinguished by a dynamic building program, significant growth in enrolments and an educational philosophy based on an unwavering commitment to achieving the best for every student.

    Strongly committed to society’s need to replicate itself through education, Meg understands that for educators, a key purpose is to motivate and inspire, to communicate a vision, and to champion and promote the best possible educational programs.

    Meg has served on the Board of Victoria University, is a member and current chair of AHISA ( VIC) board member of ESA, a Council member of the Invergowrie Foundation and a longstanding member of the Australian College of Educators and the Australian Council for Educational Leaders and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
